Who are we
The “1019.ch – Help for war victims in Ukraine” campaign was launched by members of the AB Glanzenburger student fraternity from Zurich. When they discussed the war two days after the Russian invasion of Ukraine – startled by the TV images – they suddenly realized how close it was happening. Thus the name of the action was born: 1019 – the distance in kilometers from the AB Glanzenburger’s home in Zurich to the Ukrainian border.

The fraternity AB Glanzenburger
The AB Glanzenburger is an active student fraternity on the square of Zurich with about 120 active and former students of the Zurich university and colleges.
- Founded in 1959
- Member of the Swiss Student Association, to which more than 70 fraternities belong
- The members are distributed +/- evenly between ETH and Uni
- Color wearing men’s fraternity
- Regular pub in the Rheinfelder Bierhalle near the Central in Zurich

The Swiss Student Association
The Swiss Student Association (Schw. StV) is the largest association of color bearers and their fraternities in Switzerland.
More than 6,000 active and former students from all language regions at middle schools, universities and universities of applied sciences cultivate a common interest under the banner of the Schw. StV the interdisciplinary exchange, the examination of socio-political and educational issues, and the forging and maintaining of lifelong friendships.
