Aid project
Immediate help on site
The people and health facilities on the ground are currently in urgent need of medical products, medicines and generators to bridge the power outages. It is also important to protect people from the cold in winter. The donated money will be used to purchase all these things. Logistics partners in Switzerland and Austria then organize the transports directly to the war zone.

Help for refugees
Ukrainians who had to leave their country are also in need of help. We therefore also support them on a selective basis. Be it in the neighboring countries of Ukraine or even in Switzerland
Measures outside Ukraine
Support in Romania
In April, we supported the connection Aquila Varadinens from Oradea in Romania in the accommodation of Ukrainian families who had fled with a contribution of 2,500 euros. The money was used to buy and distribute food and daily necessities.
Accommodation in Switzerland
With a survey among the members of the fraternity AB Glanzenburger we clarified how many refugees we could accommodate privately. Currently we can offer 10 accommodations. A first accommodation of a family of five could be realized at the beginning of May in an own apartment in Zurich.
Treatment in Nottwil
Thanks to our initiative, we were able to bring a 19-year-old Ukrainian from Kiev, who has been paralyzed since February, to Switzerland and arrange for him to be treated at the Paraplegic Center Nottwil. A treatment that is no longer possible in Ukraine due to the war, but will perhaps give him back the ability to walk.
Action “Food for All
With 1000 CHF we support the action“Food for all“. Since March, the Zurich-based initiative, launched during the pandemic, has also been helping many refugees from Ukraine with free food. Besides the donation, we will support the action with manpower on one or two Saturdays.
Support for a family
We support a Ukrainian family in the Zurich area. The family has a daughter with an impairment and therefore needs special aids for care. Since the expenses exceed the possibilities of the host family and the help of the authorities, we support the family with a small monthly payment of 150 CHF.
Annual reports
We look back in the annual report. The report summarizes our activities and shows where we were active and what we were able to achieve. (The reports are only available in German)

International fraternity network
In Switzerland
The Swiss Student Association supports our collection campaign with know-how, contacts and comprehensive communication to all color wearers in Switzerland.
As an association with over 6,000 active and former students, the Swiss Student Association easily reaches more people than we Glanzenburgers ever could.
In Austria
The student fraternity Austria-Sagitta zu Wien is a member of the European Cartel Association EKV and has maintained close contact with Obnova Lviv for years, with which it jointly implements social projects.
The Austria-Sagitta also planned its relief operation as early as March 2022. We soon realized that the actions complement each other well and that we can benefit enormously from each other’s know-how and contacts.
.
In Ukraine
The Obnova Lviv (Lviv) is like the Austria-Sagitta a member of the EKV and was in close friendly contact with the Austria-Sagitta long before the outbreak of the Ukraine crisis.
Since the beginning of the war, the lives of Obnova members have changed radically. Since then, the students and their families have been forced to stay in shelters and the fear for life and limb is omnipresent.

FAQ
Question: What happens if more money is collected than is needed?
Answer: As always in situations that develop dynamically from day to day, it is difficult to make an exact forecast of when who will need how much help and whether the intended offers of help are still useful. If part of the money could not be used as planned, it would be transferred to a large relief organization (Red Cross, UNICEF, …) for their use in Ukraine.
Question: As a donor, how can I be sure that my money will be used for the stated purpose?
Answer: All donations received can be tracked in e-banking. All transactions are audited by the Business Audit Committee of the Swiss Student Association. The use of the donations is documented (photos & reports). See pictures.
Question: From when to when should the action run?
Answer: The action has started in March 2022. How long the action will last is still completely unclear.
